I made these photographs across the winters of Long Island, on shorelines and in fields where the season strips everything back. Bare trees, frozen edges, snow holding the shape of what it covers. What is left is structure, and light with nothing in its way.
I came to these places slowly and stayed a long time. The waiting is part of the work. Winter is usually read as absence, but what I kept finding was persistence: a branch still standing in the ice, a line of trees at the edge of a field, a landscape that has been through this before and will be again.
This series was completed as my BFA thesis in Photography and Imaging at Queens College and exists as a photobook of twenty-three images.
Each photograph is available as an archival pigment print in an edition of ten, printed by me on Hahnemühle German Etching paper. Prints are signed and numbered, and sizes are available on request.
