A pear with one dried leaf still attached. A copper kettle worn down to its dents. Dahlias in a glass, some open, some already closing back in on themselves.
These are ordinary things at the end of their use. I photograph them in near darkness, letting one low light find only what it will, so that most of the frame stays unresolved. What comes forward is texture: the speckled skin of the fruit, the scarred metal, the wet stems in the glass.
The tradition is old, a table, a dark room, objects that will not last. I keep returning to it for the reason painters did. The beauty and the ending are the same thing, and you cannot photograph one without the other.

Each photograph is available as an archival pigment print in an edition of ten, printed by me on Hahnemühle German Etching paper. Prints are signed and numbered, and sizes are available on request.
Please write with the title of the image you are interested in, and I will send pricing and available sizes.
